You don’t want to miss the @Opry tomorrow night, folks. Just sayin’,” Paisley wrote on Monday (April 11). And then on Tuesday, “Tonight one of the greatest artists of all time is going to take the @Opry stage for the first time. But, shhhh. It’s a surprise.”

And then finally, on Tuesday night at the Grand Ole Opry, Paisley revealed that surprise.

It was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member John Fogerty, who was joined by Paisley on Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 1970 hit, “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” and on Fogerty’s 1985 solo smash, “Centerfield.”

When they were called back onstage for an encore, Paisley joked to Fogerty, “Do you know any more songs?” He did, so they closed their performance with CCR’s 1969 classic, “Proud Mary.”
